20161204 Snow

Snow, Iv’e had enough

We got our first snow today.
I took some pictures.
The novelty has worn off.
Please let spring commence.

I know better

I’ve been watching the signs and I think winter will be moderately hard with a few large storms. One can only hope

Today’s Snow Images

I got them Downloaded and backed up. Now my question is do I process them in color or black and white? Instead of obsessing over it, which I am quite capable of, I’m going to choose one image and process it both ways. That way I’ll learn about each method. But first some lunch to go with my tea.

My Answer

First do the color workup and save a preset. Then do the black and white workup on the color base workup and save a preset. When I switch to B&W all the color mods remain the same. Now I can compare for each image and decide as I go.

Print Quest

As I indicated earlier I want to add some photo print products. Specifically: Metal prints, glass prints, canvas prints, cutouts and printing on t-shirts, mugs and other items. So far mpix.com has most of those. I already have an account there, I just need to update it. I can’t get all the products I want at mpix so I’ll need to find an alternate source for the rest.

Today’s Snow Works

That Snow Effect

I still haven’t figured out where the falling snow is controlled. It doesn’t seem to have any derogatory effect and it is kind of appropriate so I’m leaving it.

Observations

I haven’t shot in or for black and white for a while so I need to sharpen those particular seeing skills, more form and more contrast in the composition..
